We will concentrate on PCL as a Biostimulator due to its popularity in the DIY and Aesthetic industry, as it also won the AMWC collagen inducer awards in 2022. Polycaprolactone is a biodegradable polymer used as an effective absorbable filler for correction of irregularities and asymmetries, definition of facial lines and treatment of wrinkles. It differs from other absorbable particulate fillers in that it lasts up to two years.

Its application is by PCL, a microsphere-shaped polymer distributed in a phosphate buffered saline-based carboxymethylated cellulose gel in a ratio of 30% Polycaprolactone and 70% gel. Thus, in addition to a noninvasive harmonization applied through microcannulas, PCL stimulates the natural production of collagen, which forms the basis for elastin and hyaluronic acid. Together these three substances are responsible for the firmness, elasticity and hydration of the skin.

Liquid PCL is probably one of the best biostimulators to enter the market as of 2022 which also won the AMWC collagen Inducer awards in 2022. It has a long safety record in Europe & Asia. Gouri/Pcl provides maximal stimulation of collagen in the lower dermis & requires 3 sessions for optimal results. It can be used on the face & neck area, and on the top of the hands. Ellanse a well known facial filler in the esthetics market also contains PCL and are widely used and popular in facial rejuvenation. One of the benefits of PCL is how long it lasts. It can easily lasts from 18-24months and even longer depending on several factors like age, skin condition and will differ from each individual.It can be used by men and women.Its safety reckord even surpasses PLLA as there is less risk for granuloma forming which can happen with PLLA based biostimulators.
